Terms of Service

1. Purpose These Terms of Service establish the conditions of use and operational matters regarding the services of Veralga (hereinafter referred to as the 'Site'). 2. Definitions The major terms used in these Terms are defined as follows: ① Member: A user who has agreed to the Site's terms and registered by providing personal information, thereby establishing a usage contract with the Site. ② Usage Contract: The contract established between the Site and members regarding site usage. ③ Member ID: A unique combination of characters and numbers assigned to each member for identification and service use. ④ Password: A combination of characters and numbers selected by the member to verify their identity and protect their rights. ⑤ Operator: The entity that establishes and operates the website for the service. ⑥ Termination: The act of a member terminating their usage contract. 3. Matters Not Specified in Terms The operator may separately announce operational policies when necessary, and in case of overlap between these Terms and operational policies, the operational policies shall take precedence. 4. Formation of Usage Contract ① The usage contract is formed when the operator accepts the membership application of a person who agrees to these Terms. ② Those who wish to register as members and use the service indicate their agreement to these Terms by selecting 'I agree' below after reading these Terms during the site registration process. 5. Service Usage Application ① Users wishing to register as members must provide all required information (User ID, password, nickname, etc.) requested by the Site. ② Members who do not register their genuine information, such as by impersonating others or registering false information, cannot claim any rights regarding site usage and may be subject to legal penalties. 6. Privacy Policy The Site and operator do not retain members' passwords from the information provided during registration, and related matters follow the Site's privacy policy. The operator strives to protect members' personal information, including registration information, in accordance with relevant laws. The protection of members' personal information shall follow relevant laws and the Site's privacy policy. However, the operator bears no responsibility for information exposed due to members' own fault. If members post or distribute illegal content that violates public morals or national security, the operator may view members' data and submit it to relevant authorities upon their request. 7. Operator Obligations ① The operator shall promptly handle legitimate opinions or complaints from members. However, when prompt handling is difficult due to personal circumstances, the operator shall do its best to notify members afterward through announcements, messages, emails, etc. ② To provide continuous and stable site service, the operator may request the Site to repair or restore facilities without delay when they are damaged or lost. However, site operation may be temporarily suspended in cases of natural disasters or unavoidable circumstances. 8. Member Obligations ① Members must comply with these Terms, all regulations set by the operator, announcements, operational policies, and relevant laws. They must not engage in activities that interfere with site operations or damage the Site's reputation. ② Members may not transfer or give their usage rights or other contractual positions to others without the Site's explicit consent, nor offer them as collateral. ③ Members must exercise reasonable care in managing their ID and password, and may not allow third parties to use their ID without the operator's or Site's consent. ④ Members must not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of the operator, Site, or third parties. 9. Service Usage Hours ① Service is available 24/7 year-round in principle, unless there are special technical or operational issues. However, the Site may temporarily suspend service for system maintenance, expansion, or replacement at times determined by the Site, and such scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance on the Site's homepage. ② The Site may temporarily or permanently suspend service without prior notice in the following cases: - Emergency system checks, expansion, replacement, or malfunctions - National emergencies, power outages, natural disasters, or other force majeure events - Telecommunication service suspension by telecommunication providers - Service disruption due to excessive usage ③ For service suspensions under the previous paragraph, the Site will notify members through announcements. However, when prior notice is impossible due to circumstances beyond the Site's control, subsequent notice will be provided. 10. Service Usage Termination ① Members wishing to terminate their usage contract with the Site must submit an online termination request personally. Note that terminating site usage is separate from terminating the usage contract. ② Upon termination request, site-related programs are automatically deleted from the member management screen, and the operator can no longer view the terminating member's information. 11. Service Usage Restrictions Members shall not engage in the following activities, and the Site may restrict service usage, take legal measures, terminate the usage contract, or suspend service for a specified period if members engage in such activities: ① Registering false information during registration or information updates ② Interfering with others' site usage or stealing information ③ Impersonating the Site's staff, employees, or affiliates ④ Infringing upon the personal rights or intellectual property rights of the Site or third parties ⑤ Illegally using other members' IDs ⑥ Collecting, storing, or publishing other members' personal information without consent ⑦ Activities objectively judged to be related to crime ⑧ Activities violating relevant laws 12. Post Management ① The operator is responsible for managing and operating the Site's posts and materials. The operator must monitor inappropriate posts and materials, and upon discovery or report, delete them and warn the posting member. Members are responsible for their own posts and should not post content that violates these Terms. ② The operator may delete or move posts without members' prior consent if requested by public institutions like the Information Communications Ethics Committee. ③ Criteria for inappropriate posts include: - Content severely insulting or defaming other members or third parties - Distribution or linking of content violating public order and morals - Content promoting illegal copying or hacking - Commercial advertisements - Content objectively recognized as crime-related - Content infringing upon other users' or third parties' rights including copyright - Content judged to violate relevant laws ④ If the Site receives requests to suspend posts due to defamation or intellectual property rights violations, it may temporarily suspend such posts and follow the resolution between the requesting party and the poster through litigation, settlement, or relevant authority decisions. 13. Post Storage If the site operator must discontinue the Site due to unavoidable circumstances, they will notify members in advance and make every effort to facilitate post transfer. 14. Copyright of Posts ① Copyright of posts published on the Site belongs to the posting member. The Site cannot commercially use posts without the poster's consent, except for non-profit purposes and posting rights within the service. ② Members may not commercially use information obtained through the service, such as processing or selling posted materials. ③ The operator may delete, move, or refuse registration of content without prior notice if it falls under Article 12 violations. 15. Compensation for Damages ① Members bear primary responsibility for all civil and criminal liabilities arising from the Site. ② The Site shall not compensate for damages caused by force majeure events like natural disasters or members' intentional or negligent acts. 16. Disclaimers ① The operator is exempt from responsibility if members fail to obtain expected benefits from site service provision or for damages arising from selection or use of service materials. ② The operator is exempt from responsibility for issues with the Site's service infrastructure or telecommunication services provided by other providers, and damages related to the Site's service infrastructure follow the Site's terms of service. ③ The operator bears no responsibility for materials stored, posted, or transmitted by members. ④ The operator is not responsible for service disruptions caused by members' fault. ⑤ The operator is not responsible for any activities between members or between members and third parties, whether within or outside the service. ⑥ The operator is not responsible for the authenticity, reliability, accuracy, or content of materials posted or transmitted by members or available through the Site. ⑦ The operator is not responsible for any damages arising from goods transactions between members or between members and third parties through the service. ⑧ The operator is not responsible for any disputes between members or between members and third parties without operator fault. ⑨ The operator is not responsible for member damages caused by system failures, third-party attacks, computer viruses without known countermeasures, or other uncontrollable force majeure events during system management, inspection, maintenance, replacement, or software operation, absent intentional or gross negligence. Supplementary Provision These Terms are effective from November 2, 2024.
